Associate, City Human Resources - Delhi
Position Summary:

The City Human Resources Associate is the backbone of the Delhi site handling multiple responsibilities to ensure smooth operations, strong processes, systems and decision making at scale for a site like Delhi with 290 Fellows supported by 40 staff members. The Associate is one of the few people on the team who will work closely with every single person in the City Operations team (Fellows and staff).

Team Overview:

The Delhi city operations team has the exciting and challenging role of driving the Teach For India and mission. This involves training and supporting Fellows to have impact in their classrooms, schools and communities, to have impact on themselves and to prepare Fellows for their post Fellowship journey. The team works with various stakeholders in the city of Delhi like our Alumni, Government, corporate,
foundations, NGOs to drive our vision. Delhi will be beginning its sixth year of operation in 2016 –2017.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Human Resources Compliance

  • Custodian of the Fellow Database (including online): Support Fellow registrations at the Institute, maintain Fellow Database, track Fellow retention issues and facilitate retention conversations wherever needed
  • Attendance and leave management: Manage and drive compliance around attendance Fellow stipend processing data: Verifying Fellow stipend with the support of the City Admin Assistant
  • Fellow Support conversations: Participate in the Support plan conversations with Program Manager/Senior Program Managers/City Directors.
  • Facilitate trainings to align Fellows and Staff to organizational policies and processes
  • Hiring & Induction of new City Operations members’ Leadership Development Plan (LDP) – Making sure that Senior Program Manager and City Director conduct 2X2 conversations with teams by scheduling, facilitating and/or shadowing conversations. City Human Resources must facilitate the group conversations that happen during the LDP cycle and drive the staff engagement survey.
  • Support Staff and Fellows with any HR related queries
  • Be responsible for managing finding, maintaining and allocating volunteers through the year for our classrooms
  • Culture

  • Design and roll out the weekly digest and manage other channels of internal communication with opportunities and organizational updates to Fellows
  • Recognition and engagement plan for City Staff, building in more informal team time and ensure that general well-being of people is taken care of.
  • Conduct regular meetings and touch points with Fellows and staff
  • Operations – City, Trainings and City Director Support

  • Create, own and maintain a Delhi city calendar which has all the different events and dates marked in advance.
  • Conduct research on the educational landscape of Delhi to strengthen the Delhi strategy.
  • Support the city through gauging impact of various projects rolled out in the city.
