Admissions process
We will choose Fellows based on a multi-phase admissions process, including an online application, a phone interview, and a full-day, in-person Assessment Centre. Additionally, we will ask references to send us recommendation forms by e-mail. The online application will be open in August 2009, and applicants can continue to apply to the program until 17th January, 2010. We will conduct phone interviews and Assessment Centres for applicants who pass the application stage on a rolling basis until late-January, 2010.
How to submit an application
- Online Applications: In August 2009, applicants will be able to submit an application directly on the website www.teachforindia.org.
- TEACH FOR INDIA WILL NOT ACCEPT HARD-COPY APPLICATIONS. Please do not print and mail hard-copy applications to Teach For India.
- Applications are non-binding.
Deadlines and Timelines
1st Application Deadline - Oct 11, 2009
2nd Application Deadline - Nov 22, 2009
3rd Application Deadline - Jan 17, 2010
You are kindly requested to apply by the 1st Application Deadline in order to maximise your chances of selection for the Fellowship
The online application will be open in August 2009, and applicants can continue to apply to the program until 17 January, 2010. We will not accept applications after 17 January, 2010.
The entire admissions process, from submitting an application to undergoing a phone interview to attending an Assessment Centre, will take between 4 and 10 weeks.
Parts of the Application
YOU ARE NOT ASKED TO SUBMIT A CV/RESUME or COVER LETTER/ PERSONAL STATEMENT AS PART OF THE APPLICATION TO THE 2010 TEACH FOR INDIA FELLOWSHIP. Please do not send CV's, resumes, cover letters or personal statements to Teach For India.
All applicants will be required to complete the following sections of the application:

- Academic Information and Work Experience
- Extra-curricular and Volunteer Experience
- References - Applicants will be required to have one reference e-mail the Teach For India Recommendation Form to fellowreferences@teachforindia.org before they can sign-up for an Assessment Centre. Please download the form here or on Page 3 of the application.
- Short Essays
Download PDF version of the Application Form. Please print this to help prepare your answers for the online application. However, we will not accept paper or e-mailed applications. All answers must be filled-in on our application and submitted online.
