Manager, City Development

Ahmedabad
Position Summary:
The Development Manager drives the Teach For India vision and mission through this challenging role of building Teach For India Ahmedabad into a financially sustainable site. It is an exciting role that involves looking for new and creative ways to raise funds for our city operations and building long standing relationships and partnerships with donors and organisations in the city.
Team Overview:
With approximately 90 Fellows and 30 schools in our third year of operations in 2016-17, the Ahmedabad team aims towards establishing the movement in the city. We are looking to involve various stakeholders like our Alumni, Corporates, Foundations and NGOs to drive our mission. The Development Manager will work with the City Director to create and implement a strategy to raise funds for City Operations and oversee relationship building and donor engagement activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Actively research and build relations with organizations and individuals in the city to raise funds
  • Design and execute a strategy for raising funds and meeting the development goals for Ahmedabad with the City Director
  • Identify, research and set up meetings with prospective donors and partners
  • Maintain relationships and partnerships with existing donors and partners
  • Build presentations and proposals for various donor meetings/li>
  • Work with the National Development and Alumni teams to ensure due process is followed in keeping all proposals and documentation up to date on the team sites and Salesforce
  • Lead and organize donor engagement activities

Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience (Preferably Fund Raising, Investing Stakeholders, Building Relationships and Making Presentations)
