Teach For India believes that in order to solve the problem of educational inequity in our lifetime, we need an army of leaders working tirelessly across sectors with the singular vision of ensuring that every child attains an excellent education.
Teach For India views the problem as a complex jigsaw puzzle, comprised of pieces that we know need to be fixed, and pieces that we still do not yet understand. Our belief is that if we infuse hundreds and thousands of leaders into each piece of this puzzle, to work together across sectors in society, then we will achieve our vision – in our lifetime.
In the next five years, Teach For India aims for its Alumni to become proof points across sectors of society: examples of excellence that will fundamentally change our idea of what is possible. Whereas we encourage alumni to follow whichever path in which they believe they can be as effective as possible in achieving excellent educational opportunities for all children, Teach For India will specifically prioritize creating career opportunities and pathways for Alumni in the following pieces of the puzzle: teaching, school leadership, training school leaders, teacher training, training teacher trainers, curriculum, assessment, examination reform, corporate social responsibility, innovation and technology in education, media, and governance.
